NEW DAVID GUETTA SINGLE ‘WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER’

Producer, hit maker and worldwide ambassador of club culture DAVID GUETTA has teamed with the internationally revered Pop/R&B goddess and Grammy winner KELLY ROWLAND for Guetta’s new single, “When Love Takes Over,” released digitally as a single track on April 28th, 2009 on Astralwerks.

The song was unveiled late in March at an astounding live première highlighting this year's Winter Music Conference, in front of a massive outdoor Miami Beach crowd. With its exhilarating pop melody and uplifting, powerful beats supporting a ringing vocal performance of impeccable clarity and rousing emotion by Rowland, “When Love Takes Over” is set to be THE sound of the summer of 2009.

Two digital single bundles released on May 5th, 2009 will offer listeners a choice of electro remixes, including a version by Abel Ramos; and house remixes by Laidback Luke, Norman Doray & Arno Cost, and Albin Myers. "When Love Takes Over" by David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland will be released physically on 29th June 2009.

The single is a prelude to David Guetta's fourth album, which will be released in America August 25, 2009. Guetta is currently planning a summer-long world tour, following a hectic 2008 in which he played over 200 DJ dates.

DAVID GUETTA is a name synonymous with the world’s greatest house and dance music, and with the DJ sets and parties that bring that music to life. Since releasing his first pioneering house single “Up 1 Way” in his native Paris, France in 1992, David Guetta has sold over 2 million albums worldwide and over 3.2 million singles. He has been France’s No. 1 club DJ for a decade, and was named the world’s No. 1 House DJ in 2008. He is a fixture year after year in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJ’s list, and was also named DJ of the year at London’s House Music Awards.

With three chart-topping albums to date (Just a Little More Love, 2002; Guetta Blaster, 2004; Pop Life, 2007), EMI Music will release Guetta’s much-awaited 4th album in June 2009 in France and in September 2009 internationally. Guetta and his wife Cathy are also famed for staging the mega-sized dance parties, F*** Me I’m Famous, for tens of thousands of house, electro, and dance-loving fans from Ibiza to Miami, New York, London, Barcelona and Paris. They have released four club compilation packages with the same name.

Green Day - Know Your Enemy (2009)

Filmed in downtown Los Angeles last month with director Mathew Cullen, the three-minute clip opens with a cautionary statement: The government is watching. Images flash by of video cameras, chain-link fences with barbed-wire, and spotlights as the trio kick into the track and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong snarls a call to arms: "Do you know the enemy? / Insurgency will rise / Don't be blinded by the lies / In your eyes." Soon, the stage is up in flames and Armstrong, with his mic stand turned upside down, is glaring directly into the camera. It's an aggressive return after a five-year absence -- and it's vintage Green Day.

"It was definitely the biggest video I've ever done," Cullen told MTV. "It has a lot of really big visuals, because I was trying to match the song, which is huge. The video is Green Day performing. There isn't another single person in it."

Jane's Addiction CABINET OF CURIOSITIES out tomorrow-review CDs, listening party

3-CD/1-DVD Boxed Set, A Cabinet Of Curiosities, Offers
Extensive Collection of Never-Before-Heard Demos, Live Performances and Rarities, Plus Unreleased and Hard-To-Find Videos

Limited Edition Set Available April 21 From Rhino

LOS ANGELES -- Jane's Addiction aggressively melded avant-garde, funk, metal, and punk sounds with raw sexual energy and became an incomparable force. On April 21, Rhino celebrates the legacy of Jane's Addiction and unearths A CABINET OF CURIOSITIES; a 3-CD/1-DVD Jane's Addiction boxed set of demos, live performances and rarities that includes 30 unreleased tracks. The set will be available from Rhino in stores and at www.rhino.com in a striking, limited-edition wooden cabinet for a suggested price of $74.98. A digital version will also be available at all digital retail outlets. Audiophiles and vinyl geeks take note that on April 18, to celebrate this year's Record Store Day, Rhino will release 180-gram vinyl versions of the seminal Jane's albums Nothing's Shocking and Ritual De Lo Habitual for a suggested price of $17.98 and $24.98 respectively.

The CABINET collection focuses solely on the band's original incarnation of vocalist Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery and drummer Stephen Perkins. Last year, this founding foursome played together for the first time in 17 years and has since raised eyebrows with a trio of celebrated secret underground shows in tiny clubs around Los Angeles. Now, with 43 tracks on CD, A CABINET OF CURIOSITIES offers a comprehensive look
at the band from demo recordings of key tracks from Nothing's Shocking (1988) and Ritual de lo Habitual (1990) to live recordings of the band roaring through its best songs onstage.

The set opens with five songs recorded in 1986 during a session at Radio Tokyo studio in Venice, CA, including an unreleased version of "Jane Says." The remaining 12 songs on disc one are unreleased demos from 1987 that feature futures Jane's classics including "Three Days," "Ocean Size," "Classic Girl," "Summertime Rolls," and "Stop!"

The second disc contains more unreleased demos ("Ted, Just Admit It") along with a recording of the band rehearsing "My Time" and a 12" remix of "Been Caught Stealing." The disc also rounds up stray songs from various compilations (Grateful Dead cover "Ripple," "Don't Call Me Nigger, Whitey" with Ice-T & Ernie C) as well as rare and unreleased live cuts including
roaring covers of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and The Stooges' "1970" as well as the live staple dubbed "Bobhaus," which features lyrics from Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone" sung over the music of Bauhaus' "Burning From The Inside."

Jane's Addiction made great albums, but it's the band's live shows that cemented its legacy. All of the darkness, soul, aggression, and musical zealousness came pouring out night after night as the foursome gelled into a thunderous and dangerous machine. The third disc features a complete live show from December 19, 1990. This performance was the second show from the
band's legendary three night run at the Hollywood Palladium and features a number of fiery, unreleased performances including "Mountain Song," "Whores," and "Ocean Size," and "Been Caught Stealing."

The DVD included with A CABINET OF CURIOSITIES begins with Soul Kiss, previously available only on VHS, which features the video for "Mountain Song" that was banned by MTV, a video for "City" and candid home movies of the band. The DVD also brings together six additional music videos as well as a trio of unreleased 1990 performances taped in Milan for MTV Italy.

The wooden curio cabinet that houses the limited edition set looks like a shrine to the band made by an adoring fan. The box opens to reveal recreations of early concert fliers, ticket stubs, a set list and other memorabilia.

Members of Maroon 5, Gomez, and Phantom Planet Team Up For Operation Aloha

The 14 musicians who make up OPERATION ALOHA had an amazing opportunity. With a month of free time in between tours, recording and the general chaos of their schedules, each musician flew to the to the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii to live in a strange compound of tree houses and record with friends whom they respect and share common interests with. Captivated by the magnificence of the island, members of Maroon 5, Gomez and Phantom Planet, among others, decided to plug in some instruments and see what happens. The end result is a collection of songs that captures the tranquility, freedom and spirit of Hawaii. Their self-released and self-titled debut will be released on May 12th.

Allowing themselves to step away from their usual roles and be inspired by bohemian living and a no-constraints approach to songwriting and recording, OPERATION ALOHA experiments with a love of blues inspired rock and Hawaiian folk music, to create a clever collection of songs that draws from the fantasy of escape.

From the charming swagger of “Failure” to the emotional depth of “Phone Booth,” to the slack key coloring of “Ika Pono” and the organic harmonies on “Elephant Pharmacy,” OPERATION ALOHA is a stunning album of naturalistic pop and a uniquely conceptual work from a group of talented musicians.

Operation Aloha Musicians:

Ian Ball (Gomez)

James Valentine (Maroon 5)
Jesse Carmichael (Maroon 5)

Sade - Greatest Hits (1984-1994)

Sade's smooth voice always makes you comfortable, that makes these songs memorable, you feel good yourself. "Cherish The Day", "Jezabel" and flawless love song "Smooth Operator" are the best moments in this Greatest Hits. Sade is cleary queen of soft pop music.

Doves - Kingdom of Rust (2009)

Kingdom Of Rust may just increase their fanbase significantly. Why can't more bands make this kind of effort? Widescreen, windswept and grittily euphoric – well now, no one's said that about Oasis lately have they? In a year that's fast becoming a vintage one for albums, Doves storm to the top of the pile. Absolutely brilliant.

Bob Mould - Life and Times (2009)

Critics around Life and Times

Bob Mould: "I remember the DC show in May 1989 promoting Workbook. Twenty years later it will be great fun to return to the DC area with those songs in hand and a new interpretation in mind. Many of the songs on Life And Times are a nod to that era. I am planning a special night of music and the Birchmere is the ideal room for this rendition. April 7 will be another day for me to remember: a one-of-a-kind show on the release day of Life And Times for the hometown crowd.”

“With his second album in 13 months, “Life and Times” (Anti), the man who put the howl in Husker Du and the super-sized melodies in Sugar has been on a mid-career songwriting roll. Introspection reigns and devastation shadows every verse, but as usual the hooks abound, and when he lights into a guitar solo (“Wasted World”) or rides a Sugar-sized wave (“Argos”), he reminds us all that he practically invented indie rock.” - Chicago Tribune

“This ninth solo album finds the former Hüsker Dü and Sugar firebrand still making a mark. An eclectic, at times explicit, exploration of love, loss and lust, it's the work of a skilled songwriter comfortable in his own skin and canon. The songs revisit most of Mould's major milieux – punk rock, hard pop, edgy electronica – with the benefits of age and experience.” – The Guardian

“So it seems the new bald, bearded and kinda buff Bob is warming up to his legacy while continuing to craft it. That's evident on his new album, Life and Times, complete with dirty lyrics, messy punk growls, and the wide spectrum of sound and storytelling Bob Mould fans haven't heard in a while. Like his first solo album, Workbook (1989), Life and Times is a stripped-down return to the basics Bob does best.” – LA Weekly
