Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist (2007)

Corgan indicated that, with Zeitgeist, he wanted to make a mainstream rock record, comment on the political climate of the United States, and explore the nature of the band and his friendship with Chamberlin. The album was met with mixed reviews and a strong debut, but it quickly slid down the charts. It was certified Gold in the United States on February 1, 2008. In 2008, citing the album's poor commercial performance, Corgan stated that Zeitgeist will be the last studio album the band releases, and that the band's "primary function now is to be a singles band.

Patrick Wolf The Bachelor

Patrick Wolf's new great ful lp "The Bachelor" has been amazing. I've been listening to this album a lot recently. First single "Vulture" is a good reason to like new Patrick Wolf Stuff. There are also other great new tracks like Hard times, Oblivion, Damaris. Patrick's ambitious in singer/songwriter scene reminds me alternative music gods like Gary Numan, David Sylvian and David Bowie. He's also totally surprising at the video of Vulture which reminds me magicful 80s. Cover looks horrible, however you should check out this album.

Manic Street Preachers - Journal For Plague Lovers

They have been in Rockfield studio in Wales with Mr Steve Albini recording a new album, Journal For Plague Lovers.

All 13 songs on the new record feature lyrics left by Richey. The brilliance and intelligence of the lyrics dictated that Manic Street Preachers had to finally use them. The use of language is stunning and topics include The Grande Odalisque by Ingres, Marlon Brando, Giant Haystacks, celebrity, consumerism and dysmorphia, all reiterating the genius and intellect of Richard James Edwards.

The record is scheduled for release on 18th May and will be available on CD, deluxe 2 CD, download and LP.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones

Show Your Bones is the second full-length album by new New York indie rock band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. It was released on March 27, 2006 (March 28, 2006 in North America) and nominated for a 2007 Grammy Award for "Best Alternative Music Album".

The album is more subdued in tone from previous records, especially the caustic noise of their self-titled debut EP. Producer Squeak E. Clean adds subtle layers of keyboards, sirens, bells, handclaps; five of the 11 songs utilize acoustic guitar, all prominently.

Bob Sinclair - Born in 69 (2009)

Press on 2008's Lust Lust Lust:
"[Lust Lust Lust] crackles like a transmission from some spectral AM radio station - one playing tunes from the supergroup that, in an alternate universe, the Ronettes, My Bloody Valentine, and the Velvet Underground formed on a lost weekend." -- ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY

"Noisier than old-school Sonic Youth and every bit as menacing as the Velvet Underground circa '68." -- ALTERNATIVE PRESS

"A masterpiece from start to finish." - SOMA

Black Lips - Drop I Hold (Remix Feat Gza)

One of the defining moments of this year's SXSW was the pair of surprise collaborations between Atlanta garage rock rabble-rousers The Black Lips and Wu Tang impresario GZA. This first took place off the beaten path at The Compound for Dickies Battle of the Bands, inspiring the unlikely pair to enter into a whole new chamber together. Soon thereafter, rumblings shot down 6th Street that the unlikely collabo might occur again at The Vice Records Showcase later that night at Emo's. Sure enough, immediately after the band took the stage, GZA emerged to a roomful of cheers and slack jaws. The following week, the web was atwitter with reports from both events and a grainy MTV video documented a piece of the experience.

But now anyone who missed the display of hip-hop and gutter-rock allegiance has a chance to get in on the action. Indeed, the Lips are releasing an iTunes EP including 200 Million Thousand fave "Drop I Hold," along with a never-before-heard version of the song featuring verses from the Genius himself, GZA. In addition, the release will feature an instrumental version of the track and the video for the album-version of "Drop." All this, for a whopping $1.99 during its first week of availability, beginning next Tuesday, May 5th. Earlier yesterday, AOL Spinner and AOL Boombox jointly premiered the genre-defying collaboration, recorded at Werewolf Heart Studios under the watchful eye of engineer Filip Nikolic. Hear for yourself below.
