Corinne Bailey Rae - The Sea (2010)

Bailey Rae expands her range with several surprisingly hard-edged guitar and organ workouts, and returns elsewhere to the sunny neo-soul sound that helped her last disc go double platinum. What makes it all work is her lithe voice, as eloquent an instrument as ever.

The new songs have already won rave reviews after she performed them during a comeback gig in November and The Sea, which Bailey Rae also co-produced, has been widely tipped as one to watch in 2010.

Alicia Keys - The Element Of Freedom

The Element of Freedom is the fourth studio album by American R&B musician Alicia Keys, released December 11, 2009 on J Records. Recording sessions for the album took place during May to September 2009 at The Oven Studios in Long Island, New York. It features production by Keys, Jeff Bhasker, Swizz Beatz, Noah "40" Shebib, and Kerry "Krucial" Brothers.

The album debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 417,000 copies in its first week—making it Keys' first album to miss a number one debut spot. It spawned two singles, "Doesn't Mean Anything" and "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart", that attained Billboard chart success. Despite some mixed criticism towards its production and Keys' songwriting, The Element of Freedom received generally positive reviews from most music critics.

Doves - The Last Broadcast

The Last Broadcast is the second album by Doves, released in April 2002. It went to #1 in the UK Albums Chart. The album was produced by Doves themselves, with additional production from Max Heyes. Steve Osborne produced "Satellites" and co-produced "Caught by the River" with the band. Guest musician Sean O'Hagan also arranged the strings, brass and woodwind instruments for "Friday's Dust" and "The Sulphur Man." The first single from the album, "There Goes the Fear," entered the UK Singles Chart at #3.

"M62 Song" is credited to the band and Robert Fripp, Michael Giles, Greg Lake, Ian McDonald, and Peter Sinfield because, as stated in the album sleeve, the song is an adaptation of "Moonchild" by King Crimson. Similarly, the B-side "Hit the Ground Running" is an adaptation of "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon.

The The - Infected (1986)

Eight tracks, 'Infected', 'Out Of The Blue Into The Fire', 'Heart-land', 'Angels Of Deception', 'Sweet Bird Of Truth', 'Slow Train To Dawn', 'The Mercy Beat' and 'Twilight Of A Champion'.

Many of the tracks explore Johnson's recurring existentialist themes such as the inherent evils of modern society and the inevitable reactive alienation from that society amongst the few intelligent enough to really think for themselves.

Anastacia - Live at Last 2006

Anastacia: Live at Last is a DVD collection from pop/rock music singer Anastacia, released on March 27, 2006. It is her first full live concert DVD. It does however omit one track that was performed, "One Day in Your Life", that was usually performed by Anastacia with two members of the audience in a "sing-off" competition. The second disc also features her four last single music videos and five alternate videos to songs.

Adam Green - Minor Love (2010)

Minor Love is Adam Green's sixth solo record, to be released by Rough Trade Records in Europe on January 8 2010 and in the UK on January 11 2010. It is slated for a U.S. release on February 16, 2010. The album supposedly showcases "a tender side of the often arrogant and emotionally unavailable bully/singer" and was recorded "in a total state of isolation." Green played nearly all of the instruments on the record himself.

Cass Mccombs - Catacombs (2009)

Cass's fourth album and second for Domino evokes a return to his early, simpler sounding works, "A" and "PREfection". It's full of storied songs flush with emotional relevance and accessibility. Each track is cloaked in shiver inducing melodies that lay the perfect foundation for Cass' true source of transcendence his vocals and lyrics. McCombs carries on transcending fad and fashion to ensure the art of songwriting lives on.
